Since launch, we’ve been collecting anonymous gameplay analytics — nothing personal, just the kind of data that helps us understand how people actually play the game. Things like how many checkpoints get hit, how often levels get restarted, how many players are in a session. The stuff that tells us where the fun is and where the frustration is.

We thought it’d be fun to share some of it with you. All data below is as of April 16, 2026.

The Stats

  • 214,092 unique players
  • ~30 years of total driving time across all completed runs
  • 2,953,326 total restarts (we’re not judging)
  • 596,497 total level completions
  • ~4.6 million seat swaps
  • ~5 restarts per completion on average
  • Most restarted level — Level 2 (923,832 restarts)
  • The quitting point — Level 2 → 3 lost nearly half of all remaining players
  • Only 3% of players completed Level 10
  • Fastest section in the game — Level 5, Checkpoint 1 → 2 at a median of 2 seconds

The Demo

Before launch, we released a free demo on Steam. Here’s how that went.

  • 2,332,841 demo units (downloads)
  • 1,854,990 demo players
  • X demo wishlists generated
  • X% demo-to-wishlist conversion rate
  • X% demo-to-purchase conversion rate

Level Completions

How far did you get? Here’s every level, how many times it’s been completed, and how many unique players cleared it.

LevelCompletionsUnique Players
Level 1240,432214,092
Level 2149,265139,110
Level 377,64574,514
Level 443,82742,782
Level 530,91430,354
Level 617,34417,040
Level 711,71211,540
Level 88,9438,786
Level 99,7469,599
Level 106,6696,469

A couple of things stand out. The drop-off from Level 1 to Level 10 is massive — over 214,000 of you started the journey, and about 6,500 made it to the end. That’s roughly a 97% drop-off, which sounds dramatic but is actually pretty normal for a co-op game where you need to wrangle a friend into every session.

Also — Level 8 has fewer completions than Level 9. If you know, you know.

The Average Run

Here’s what a typical completed run looks like on each level — average time, respawns, seat swaps, bumps, damage taken, and score.

LevelAvg TimeRespawnsSwapsBumpsDamageScore
Level 119:011.15.65.61894,889
Level 230:439.78.513.13423,725
Level 331:317.07.520.83613,712
Level 427:1911.911.612.61544,097
Level 524:5628.811.10.03683,379
Level 654:0716.413.332.36491,832
Level 725:3219.55.60.15013,703
Level 831:1628.77.555.92792,592
Level 941:3720.512.826.93872,643
Level 1038:1814.29.515.35262,935

A few things jump out:

  • Level 6 averages nearly an hour per completed run with the highest damage (649) and the lowest score (1,832). It earns its reputation.
  • Level 5 and Level 8 are tied for the most respawns at ~29 per run. Level 5 somehow manages this with essentially zero bumps — whatever’s killing you there, it’s not the environment.
  • Level 8 leads in bumps at 55.9 per run. That’s roughly one bump every 34 seconds for half an hour straight.
  • Level 1 is the only level where people average about one respawn. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Restarts by Level

Nearly 3 million restarts across all levels. Here’s where you suffered.

LevelRestartsRestarts per Completion
Level 1195,1580.8
Level 2923,8326.2
Level 3322,9184.2
Level 4284,1266.5
Level 5513,86316.6
Level 6208,74612.0
Level 7115,6369.9
Level 8144,35916.1
Level 9182,88318.8
Level 1061,8059.3

Level 2 leads in raw restarts — nearly a million — but that’s partly because so many players reached it. The real pain is in the restarts-per-completion ratio. Level 9 takes that crown at almost 19 restarts per completion. Level 5 and Level 8 aren’t far behind. If you got through those on your first try, we don’t believe you.

The Worst Checkpoints

Some checkpoints hurt more than others. Here are the ones that broke the most spirits.

LevelCheckpointRestarts
Level 2Checkpoint 8170,540
Level 2Checkpoint 7163,170
Level 2Checkpoint 2159,086
Level 2Checkpoint 4106,248
Level 3Checkpoint 598,289
Level 3Checkpoint 686,134
Level 5Checkpoint 1979,484
Level 2Checkpoint 667,292
Level 5Checkpoint 2366,261
Level 6Checkpoint 1165,428

Level 2 owns five of the top ten worst checkpoints. It’s not even close. Whatever’s happening at checkpoints 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8 — we hear you. We’ve always heard you. Some of these informed changes we made in The Tune-Up.

How Long Does Each Level Take?

We also track how long it takes to get between checkpoints. Here’s the median total time per level — that’s the middle-of-the-pack player, not the speedrunner and not the person who went to make a sandwich mid-run.

LevelMedian Completion Time
Level 1~10 min
Level 2~18 min
Level 3~22 min
Level 4~18 min
Level 5~14 min
Level 6~35 min
Level 7~13 min
Level 8~13 min
Level 9~24 min
Level 10~24 min

Level 6 is in a league of its own at over half an hour median. If you’ve ever looked at the clock after a Level 6 run and thought “where did the time go?” — now you know. It went into checkpoints 15→16.

The Slowest Sections

These are the individual sections that took the longest on average. If you got stuck on any of these, you’re not alone — everyone did.

LevelSectionMedian Time
Level 6Checkpoint 15 → 167:55
Level 2Checkpoint 4 → 56:10
Level 2Checkpoint 10 → 115:59
Level 6Checkpoint 11 → 125:35
Level 4Checkpoint 1 → 24:50
Level 3Checkpoint 1 → 24:46
Level 10Checkpoint 3 → 44:46
Level 7Checkpoint 5 → 64:18
Level 10Checkpoint 13 → 144:10
Level 9Checkpoint 14 → 153:51

Level 6 checkpoints 15→16 is the longest single section in the entire game — median time of nearly 8 minutes. That’s not a checkpoint, that’s a lifestyle.

What We’ve Learned

Why We Track This

We don’t sell data, we don’t track who you are, and we don’t care what you had for breakfast. We track gameplay events — anonymously — so we can make better decisions about level design, difficulty tuning, and where to focus our time. When we see a level with a restart rate through the roof, that tells us something needs adjusting. When we see a checkpoint that barely anyone hits, that tells us the route leading to it might be broken or unclear.

It’s the same reason we read every Discord message and Steam review. We want to know what’s working and what isn’t — and data doesn’t lie, even when your Steam review says “10/10 would crash into a tree again.”

Want the Raw Data?

We’ve made the full dataset available as a JSON file if you want to dig into it yourself, build your own charts, or just prove to your friends that Level 2 is objectively cursed.

More to Come

We’ll keep sharing numbers like this from time to time. If there’s a specific stat you want to know — ask us on Discord. If it’s funny enough, we’ll look it up.
